The Internet of Things (IoT) in the most basic sense is a way of connecting every day functions with the world. As IoT has transformed over time it can be broken down into five different and distinct sections: Sense, Measure, Interpret, Connect, and Power Management.
The entire process starts with Sensing something such as light, heat, vibration, etc. and then measures it to generate data. What does the data mean? Data by itself is not meaningful and needs to be interpreted. At this point the interpreted data can be connected to the world to be analyzed and learned. Lastly one needs to act or send commands based on what has been learned. Wireless Sensor Networks
Robust wire-free connectivity for applications where low power, reliability, and ease of deployment matter. They are built for IP compatibility and are based on the 6LoWPAN and 802.15.4e standards. The SmartMesh IP product line enables low power consumption and >99.999% data reliability even in harsh, dynamically changing RF environments.
A SmartMesh IP network consists of a highly scalable, self-forming, multi-hop mesh of wireless nodes, known as motes, which collect and relay data, and a network manager that monitors and manages network performance and security, and exchanges data with a host application.

ADXL1001/ADXL1002 Low Noise and Wide Frequency Accelerometers
ADXL1001 and ADXL1002 are accelerometers that feature low noise over wide frequency range. These accelerometers provide ±100 g range on the ADXL1001 and ±50 g range on the ADXL1002. Both are shock proof up to 10,000 g for extended reliability. The ADXL1001 and ADXL1002 can take a voltage supply from 3.3 V to 5.25 V. They come in an ultra-small LFCSP package that has an operational temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The ADXL1001 and ADXL1002 are ideal for predictive maintenance, test and measurement, and asset health applications.

LTC®5800 Wireless Sensor Networking Products
SmartMesh IP wireless sensor networks are self-managing, low-power internet protocol (IP) networks built from wireless nodes called motes. The LTC5800-IPM is the IP mote-on-chip integrated circuit in the Eterna® family of IEEE 802.15.4e system-on-chip (SoC) solutions, featuring a highly integrated, low-power radio design by Dust Networks, as well as an ARM® Cortex®-M3 32-bit microprocessor running Dust’s embedded SmartMesh IP networking software.
With Dust’s time-synchronized SmartMesh IP networks, all motes in the network may route, source or terminate data, while providing many years of battery powered operation. The SmartMesh IP software provided with the LTC5800-IPM is fully tested and validated, and is readily configured via a software application programming interface. SmartMesh IP motes deliver a highly flexible network with proven reliability and low-power performance in an easy-to-integrate platform.
