EPC's EPC9159KIT evaluation board is a 1 kW, 48 V/12 V fixed ratio converter. The EPC9159 features the 80 V EPC2619 eGaN® FET on the 48 V side and the 40 V EPC2067 on the 12 V side. The compatible controller module (EPC9528) includes the Microchip dsPIC33CK256MP503 16-bit digital controller. The GaN technology employed in this solution enables the delivery of 1 kW of power in a tiny 17.5 mm x 22.8 mm footprint for a power density of 5,130 W/in3.
