High Inrush Current Relays
Phoenix Contact's high inrush current relays withstand larger peak inrush currents up to 800 A
Phoenix Contact's high inrush current relays with tungsten lead contacts allow higher maximum inrush currents of up to 800 A to be withstood. Switching capacitive loads have always been difficult with smaller industrial relays. Even though the steady-state of many capacitive loads (such as LED lights) is usually small, the startup stage often results in currents of tens or even hundreds of times the standard contact rating of the relay. The specially alloyed contacts in these relays can withstand that inrush current long enough to get to the smaller steady-state load.
The assembled 1ICT inrush current relays are available in an SPST (N/O) arrangement with 24 V coils in both the PLC and RIF families. Each relay has a dedicated BB terminal allowing for direct connection of the load return line.
