The modules filter, isolate, amplify, linearize, and convert the input signals to high-level analog outputs for use in process control systems. The SCM7B modules offer 2-way isolated analog input and output process control signal conditioning solutions featuring 15 family groups of over 200 different modules for industrial data acquisition (DAQ) and process control applications. These high-performance modules provide a single channel of isolated analog input or output.

The output modules accept high-level analog voltage signals from process control systems and buffer, isolate, filter, and amplify the output signals before providing a current or voltage output to field devices. These modules are CSA C/US-certified for safe operation in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous environments. The SCM7B series is also CE-/ATEX-compliant. Accessories include a complete selection of back panels, DIN-rail mounting options, interface cables, mounting racks, power supplies, and more.

Dataforth's SCM7B input modules incorporate a five-pole filtering approach to maximize time and frequency response by taking advantage of Thomson (Bessel) and Butterworth characteristics. One pole of the filter is on the field side of the isolation barrier and four are on the process control system side. The modules accept a wide power supply range of 14 VDC to 35 VDC (+24 VDC nominal). The compact packages (2.13" x 1.705" x 0.605" / 54.1 mm x 43.3 mm x 15.4 mm) save space and are ideal for high channel density applications. The -DIN suffix backpanels are designed for easy DIN-rail mounting.

Dataforth’s SCM7B process current modules accept high-level signals from process control systems and provide a current range of 0 mA to 20 mA or 4 mA to 20 mA to the field. The SCM7B modules also incorporate a five-pole filtering approach with one pole on the process control system side of the isolation barrier and four poles on the field side. The SCM7B family’s state-of-the-art analog design reduces EMC concerns and features more advantages, allowing for worry-free use of Dataforth signal conditioning solutions.
