RCS0805 Series 0.5 W Anti-Surge High-Power Thick-Film Chip Resistors

Vishay's RCS0805 series offers thick-film chip resistors with 0.5 W rated power and high pulse load performance. This series is available with tolerances of ±5%, ±1%, or ±0.5% along with 100 ppm and 200 ppm TCR. They are offered with an automotive AEC-Q200 qualification for the broad resistance range from 1 Ω to 10 MΩ in addition to the 0 Ω jumpers with enhanced maximum current capability of up to 4 A. The RCS0805 series features superior ESD surge characteristics up to 1,000 V as well as a surge voltage capability of 1.2 μs/50 μs up to 2,200 V. With enhanced rated power up to 0.5 W, the RCS0805 series offers significant space savings for designers. For instance, one RCS0805 series resistor can replace two standard 1206 thick-film chip resistors, representing a component count reduction and substantial board space savings of approximately 75%.
