From the previous slide, the Control subsystem will remain in reset until it is released by the M3. At this point the C28x may still remain in reset if the wait in reset mode is enabled in the EMU0 and 1 pins. Next, the C28x configures the peripheral interrupt expansion block to respond to inner processor commands from the M3. Then the C28x will go into an idle state and wait for further instructions from the M3. The IPC commands used by the boot process are included within the boot ROM. The C28x will remain in this idle state until an IPC is received from the M3 application. The IPC command will tell the C28x how it should boot. Boot loaders are available for serial ports, as well as boot to flash and boot to RAM. These loaders are similar to those found on C2000 devices.
